Most of the drinks we supply never leave a bonded warehouse until the buyer has seen and paid for them. For importers and wholesalers this is the safest way to trade large volumes. Here is how it works at MD Beverages.
What is a bonded warehouse?
A bonded (customs) warehouse stores goods under customs control. Excise duties and VAT are suspended while the goods stay there. That makes it the natural place to hold spirits, beer and champagne for export, and to keep full loads of soft drinks ready for collection. We work with bonded warehouses in Belgium and the Netherlands, including Loendersloot.
Four steps
- You ask. Send us the product, pack size, quantity and destination. You get a firm offer, usually within one working day.
- We confirm. Price, warehouse, customs status (T1, T2 or duty paid) and loading date go into a pro forma invoice.
- You inspect. You or your agent check the goods on site.
- You pay, we release. After payment the warehouse releases the goods to your carrier, or we arrange transport.
Why we do not sell on credit
Inspection before payment protects both sides. You only pay for goods you have seen, and we never ship goods that have not been paid for. It keeps prices sharp because neither side has to price in credit risk.
